PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course
Advance your diving skills! After having taken this course, you will be allowed to dive down to 30 metres/100 feet and will have learnt invaluable skills such as underwater navigation, drift diving, deep diving. The 2 days course includes 5 adventure dives. Expand and deepen your knowledge, ability and confidence to enjoy the underwater world. Learn to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving and get to grips with the thrills it offers.
What to expect: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. The course will be conducted in two days on the boat in Komodo National park. The theory will also be covered on the boat. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time. The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you can have in Komodo National park. Our recommendation for the other three adventure dives are; Peak Performance Buoyancy (improve control, reduce air consumption & protect the reef), Drift (remain controlled even in strong currents) and Fish ID (recognise fish families based on looks & behaviour). Other Adventure dives are possible but need to be discussed and may involve additional fee – Digital Photography, Night, Boat Diving and more. On the second day there is an option to join for a fun dive after finishing the course. This can be decided on the day itself and is for additional cost.
Requirements:
Minimum age: 12+
Minimum certification: Open Water Diver required
Medical statement needs to be filled out, to make sure you are fit for diving.
